Maltese Dog: Harry- Lafford Top Marc CGN RN RA

Harry was born on May 25th, 2007 in London, England. He was one of the four beautiful puppies in the litter. Harry's show name is "Lafford Top Marc." His brother is Larry (Lafford Trade Marc), one sister is Dollar (Lafford Marc My Words), and the other sister is Sally (Lafford Full Marc). Their dad, Marc, is Ch. Divine Marc of Friendship, Top Maltese in the USA 2005, Group 3 Crufts 2006, and Toy Group Winner 2007 Crufts. Their grandpa, Hershey, is Am.Can.Esp.Gib.Uk.Dutch.Int.European.Ch. Lafford Hershey's Kisses, Sh.CM. World Show Winner 2002, Top Toy 2003 Hills Competion BISS, and All Breed international BIS Winner. Oh, boy, that's a really long title, but when you're royalty, lineage and pedigree are important! :-)

On January 23rd, 2008, when he was just about eight months old, Harry flew non-stop from London, England to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We held a tea party to welcome him to his new home and gave him the nickname Prince Harry. He was so well behaved when he arrived that we had to teach him how to jump on the couch to cuddle with us! Daily grooming sessions do not bother him, which is why we are able to keep his hair uncut. He was a large collection of bows for his top knot and proudly shows them off.

Harry is playful at home, but prefers to maintain a dignified and reserved image in public. He began attending training classes the week after he came to Calgary. He has won many admirers with his patient and dignified approach to Rally Obedience and Agility. Harry's strategy is to remember that the tortoise beat the hare! He is also careful to keep his hair in place. He figures that if you're handsome and you're performing well, people are going to take photos and video, so you need to look your best. Through much hard work, Harry earned both his Rally Obedience Novice (RN) and Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) titles on the Heritage Day long weekend (first weekend in August), 2009.

We were fortunate that Harry was able to spend a few weeks with CoCo. CoCo was 14-years-old and terminally ill, and Harry, though a puppy, was very gentle and respectful. A year and a half later, it was a pleasant surprise that Harry was able to match Stella's playfulness and that they have become such great friends.

Harry LOVES snow! That's why he moved to Calgary!
